We accept several Humana Medicare Plans that are paid in network, such as the DEN 837, DEN888, and DEN 8888 plans. Note that some Humana plans may be HMO plans – which we don’t accept because we don’t receive compensation for treatment from Humana.
Humana and Major Treatment Coverage

- Basic – examples of basic treatments might include items like dental fillings for cavities
- Major – examples of major treatments typically fall under restorative treatments like bridges and dental implants
Limitations of Humana Medicare Plans
Humana Medicare dental plans typically don’t have any coverage for major treatments. This means that procedures like dental crowns, dental implants, bridges and dentures will likely not be covered by Humana’s Medicare dental plans.
A Better Alternative to Medicare Dental Plans
As an alternate option for Medicare patients, we encourage you to check out our “in-house” Murphy Dental Discount Plan. It costs just $275.00 a year and includes 1 exam, bitewing x-rays, periapical images, panoramic imaging, and non-disease dental cleaning therapy. If other services of treatment are needed for a patient the Murphy Dental Discount Plan discounts treatment at 15%.
