Two large employers in Fort Collins – Walmart & UCHealth typically offer Delta Dental Insurance Plans to their employees as part of their overall health care benefits. Delta Dental Insurance PPO is accepted at Murphy Dental, and we are in network for all of your dental care needs.

We are preferred providers with Delta Dental Premier/PPO of all States including Colorado. Accessing your personal dental benefits can be easily obtained by our front staff with a few questions.

Your Delta Dental Insurance Plan

Delta Dental is one of the largest dental insurance providers and they provide thousands of different Delta Dental insurance plans. Your Delta Dental insurance will be one of the thousand of dental insurance plans they offer for employers to choose from:

Since these dental coverage plans vary, it is vital we get your specific ID or Member ID number, your group number and if possible the group plan name, and if it is Delta Dental through your employer.

Accessing Your Benefits

Accessing member details and benefits of your Delta Dental Plan may vary. Delta Dental typically uses the patient’s social security number and date of birth to access their benefits either online or via telephone. UC Health does things a bit differently and uses ID numbers and group numbers. Regardless, we will access all the benefit details specific to your Delta Dental plan and keep them on file. This will allow us to access any limitations or frequencies associated with your plan. This can include items like a missing tooth clause, a waiting period, and detailed co-insurance information for basic and major services.

Delta Dental Insurance Coverage

Delta Dental Insurance falls into the Anything beyond preventive typically has a $50.00 deductible, anything beyond preventive usually falls under a basic or major dental treatment services.

Preventive

Preventive services include dental cleanings, exams and x-rays. Most of the Delta Dental plans through an employer are the standard 100%. However, Delta Dental does have some insurance plans that are only 80% for preventive services. By providing us your specific dental plan information, we can tell you what is covered.

Basic

Basic treatments under Delta Dental can be services like fillings, root canals, oral extractions and periodontal therapy services. Basic is usually 80% under most Delta Dental Insurance plans. Note that we do encounter some Delta Dental Insurance plans that only cover 60% for Basic services. This is another case where you’ll wish to call us to determine exactly what is covered under your specific Delta Dental Insurance Plan.

Major

Major services under Delta Dental Insurance plans typically cover procedures like dental implants, dental crowns, bridges, and similar prosthodontic treatment. These services are typically 50% covered by insurance – although for some of their plans the coverage is a bit less – at just 40%

Delta Dental’s “The Clear Plan”

Delta offers a dental care insurance plan online that we suggest to some patients to maintain their oral health. the plan is called “The Clear Plan”. The premium is based on your date of birth and zip code, and it is a plan you purchase online. They cover a lot of common dental treatment codes at a set fee for the patient to pay the dentist and the Delta Dental Clear Plan will pay the remainder.

This plan has worked quite well for many of our Fort Collins patients looking for some help financially for dental treatment.
